Feadship has unveiled the exterior of its 49.50-meter yacht Project 717 for the first time, following the vessel’s departure from the construction shed at its Aalsmeer shipyard.
Project 717 features carefully balanced exterior lines that emphasize length and volume without compromising proportions. According to Jan Schaffers, Senior Designer at De Voogt Studio, visual harmony was achieved through subtle yet thoughtfully executed design solutions.
The exterior design extends the yacht’s lines without creating the impression of excessive elongation. Expanded side shoulders along the edges of the sun deck play a key role in achieving this balance. On the main deck, the focus was on creating a distinct beach club atmosphere. When the fold-down bulwarks are opened, the deck space and uninterrupted views are comparable to those of a yacht nearly twice its size, further enhanced by the generous ceiling height on the aft deck.
The aft section of the main deck offers an exceptionally spacious layout with ample seating and a glass-lined Jacuzzi, while the fold-down bulwarks open the yacht toward the sea. Forward, guests can enjoy a well-proportioned lounge and dining area with large windows that provide privacy while maintaining a strong connection to the outdoors. The expansive sun deck, similar in size to those found on significantly larger yachts, includes a flybridge and auxiliary helm station, forward seating, grill-equipped bar units, a large dining area with ceiling fans, as well as a bar and lounge area aft. The foredeck is fitted with seating and sunpads, creating a relaxed atmosphere. Large shell doors in the hull provide access to the tender garage, which houses the yacht’s auxiliary craft.
The interior, designed by Marty Lowe, Inc. in close collaboration with the owner and the shipyard, accommodates ten guests across five cabins. These include a full-beam owner’s suite with panoramic views, a private office space, and a separate walk-in wardrobe.
Project 717 is equipped with propulsion technology developed under the Feadship Advanced Electrical Drive program. Thrust and steering are delivered via thrusters in a proven configuration that significantly reduces drag while enhancing efficiency, maneuverability, and onboard comfort.
Earlier this year, Feadship announced the successful resale of Project 717 through its brokerage division, marking another step in supporting clients in both the acquisition and resale of existing Feadship yachts.
The yacht will now undergo final preparations before being transported to the North Sea for sea trials ahead of delivery scheduled for next spring.
